Why detox you ask? Well for thousands of years man has known that detoxifying the body is a useful means of restoring both mental, spiritual and physical wellbeing. The original way to detox the body was to simply go without food. In Western culture, most are familiar with the biblical recount of Jesus spending forty days and nights in the desert fasting. This theme of fasting for mental and spiritual clarity is quite pronounced throughout the bible, but in more recent times the principle has been adapted and refined. In fact many now argue that due to the environmental conditions that humans now exist in, the old ways simply aren't enough.

Today we have a range of produts, diets and information available to assist us with removing the toxins from our body. More information about detox diets is available at http://www.detox247.com/ .
Some detox programs still rely on simply water and fasting, while others outline specific diets which tend to be mostly raw food. Basically the aim of any detox program is not for the food, or lack there of to do the work, but to engineer an environment for the body to undertake its natural processes of healing. When we detox, what we are trying to do is stop cramming toxins into our body, which in turn allows the body to start booting out the accumulated junk. Think of it as a spring clean for the body.
Often people end up with side-effects from a detox program, thus
highlighting the importance of medical consultation an supervision when
undergoing a diet change.
There's a new push to ban booze from a popular beach and picnic area in New Haven.
Sometimes these
side-effects are enough to put people off a detox program, but often the worse the reaction, the more pertinent the detox is for the body. The important thing to remember is that not all things that are good for the body are going to feel nice. Sometimes it has to hurt if it is to heal! Most people that complete a detox program will tell you that a little gas and a few headaches is a small price to pay for the increase in health and wellbeing that many receive.
